Dopey Drongo ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop with us at dopeydrongo.com, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect
When you place an order, sign up to our mailing list, or otherwise interact with our store, we may collect:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number
  • Shipping and billing address
  • Order history and order details
  • Payment information — processed directly and securely by Shopify Payments; we do not see or store your full card details

We collect this information directly from you when you use our checkout or sign-up form, or automatically through standard Shopify store functionality (e.g. cart and session cookies needed to run the store).

Why we collect it
We use your information to:

  • process and fulfil your orders, including sending your order to our printing partner for production and shipping
  • communicate with you about your order (confirmations, shipping updates, customer service)
  • send you marketing emails, if you have signed up to our mailing list
  • meet our legal and tax obligations
  • improve our store and prevent fraud

Email sign-ups and marketing
You can join our mailing list through the sign-up form on our website or through a sign-up pop-up. If you enter your email address, we store it so we can tell you about new designs, restocks and offers.

If you have signed up, you may receive a short welcome series introducing the brand, and reminders if you start a checkout without completing it. Marketing emails only go to people who have signed up. Every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link and clearly identifies us as the sender, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

We use a third-party email marketing platform to hold our subscriber list and send these messages. Your email address is shared with that provider for that purpose only, and is never sold.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or ask us to remove your address by contacting us via our Contact page. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential emails about an order you have already placed.

Who we share your information with
We share the minimum information necessary with:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform and payment processor (Shopify Payments)
  • Our printing and fulfilment partner — to produce and ship your order, they receive your name, address, and order details
  • Delivery/courier providers — to deliver your order
  • Our email marketing platform — if you have signed up to our mailing list, to store your address and send you our emails

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data retention
We retain order and customer information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above and to meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations. If you unsubscribe or ask to be removed from our mailing list, we will remove your address from it.

Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us via our Contact page. We'll respond as soon as reasonably possible.

As a small business, we may not be strictly required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in all circumstances; however, we choose to handle your information in line with its principles regardless.

Cookies
Our store uses cookies that are necessary for core functions like your shopping cart and checkout to work. Our email marketing platform may also set cookies to recognise you and to control how often our sign-up form is shown to you.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our business grows. Updates will be posted on this page.
